In Chicago, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Illinois vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–6 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (224) 435-6999. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, irmcorp.net.

On Google it holds a rating of 5.0 out of 5 from 33 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto machine shop in Chicago and suggests consistent service.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Anguel was absolutely fantastic to work with. He took the time to answer all of my questions and listen to my ideas. Even though my original vision wasn't technically possible, he used his expertise to find a brilliant alternative solution. I highly recommend his shop!

We had a great experience working with International Revere Machining Corp. Their team is professional, knowledgeable, and delivers high-quality work with excellent attention to detail. Communication was smooth throughout the entire process, and the final result exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for any machining or custom fabrication needs! Thank you Anguel and Angela!

Excellent work and people! I was looking for a machinist to modify a steering wheel for a car project. The work was far from straightforward as it involved fabricating an adapter plate and machining the base of the new wheel to allow for the electrical connections to be transferred from old wheel to new. Angela and Anguel were great to work with and the finished product was nothing short of perfect. Anguel recognizes that the small things matter and it shows in the work he produces.

I have worked with Angel at IRM for years, and he remains one of the very best β€” and increasingly rare β€” traditional machinists left in the Chicago area. His shop handles an impressively wide range of work with exceptional skill. Most recently, he expertly machined custom sheaves, bearings and much more for our company, delivering them exactly on time and to perfect specifications. In certain circumstances where we were unable bring them to his shop, he came on site. His communication is always clear, concise, and straightforwardβ€”no unnecessary back-and-forth. With over 50 years of hands-on experience, his knowledge base is extraordinary. He consistently meets (and often exceeds) deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards. In an industry where dependability can be hard to find, he has earned our complete trust and loyalty through year after year of reliable performance. If you’re looking for true old-school craftsmanship combined with modern precision and rock-solid reliability, I highly recommend him without hesitation.

I cannot recommend this shop enough!!! I'm an amateur mechanic and needed to replace the bearings for the pinion gears for my Audi, and my tool ( rear differential pinion gear nut remover) was not the right fit. After looking around (unsuccessfully) for shops to help me modify the tool, I found this shop, and Angel took the challenge to modify it. Such a quality craftsmanship. Rare to find such quality work. Highly recommend!
